Privacy Day is held every year on January 28th to coincide with the day in 1981 that the Council of Europe signed the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data. The author discusses why events over the past year make Privacy Day feel different this year, and why more people are beginning to understand the importance of data privacy.
